Mysty Rusk- President
Mysty Rusk has served the community since January 1, 2004, serving first as the President of the Economic Development Partnership (EDP) and since 2006 as the President of the Corvallis-Benton Chamber Coalition. During her time, the EDP and the Chamber of Commerce merged to form a single organization. The Chamber Coalition has three areas of focus:
1. Traditional Chamber of Commerce activities including networking and promotions
2. Economic development services focused on the retention and recruitment of companies considered economic drivers (agriculture, manufacturing, technology) and
3. Government affairs, including fair regulation and enforcement and support of local initiatives to bring new funds to educational institutions and municipalities.
Raised on a ranch in Colorado, in one of the nation's fastest growing counties, Mysty saw firsthand the ramifications of poorly planned, poorly managed growth. Thus she came to Corvallis committed to a balanced, sustainable approach to the economic vitality of our area. She received her undergraduate degree from McPherson College and an Executive MBA from Friends University, both located in Kansas. Mysty is actively involved with her children, ages 6, 8, and 10, as well as the Rotary Club of Greater Corvallis, United Way Board of Directors, Co-Chair of the Middle School Literacy Program and a member of the 2005 Leadership Corvallis class.
